Elder Care Connect Home Health Services’ passion for excellence in traditional home care stems from the dedication of Marcelina Angud, the company owner, and the three home care veterans namely: Helen Suarez, Eleanor Hankins, and Violet Vahidi. Their collective knowledge and prowess in the field of patient care are pivotal to realizing and maintaining what Elder Care Connect stands for: Excellence in Traditional Home Care.

Violet Vahidi, RN BSN (Clinical Consultant, Educator, Nurse Specialist)
Violet Vahidi was awarded an associate degree in Nursing from the Baguio General Hospital School of Nursing in 1976. She later studied at the MCP-Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nursing in August 1999.

Violet has been working in the field of medicine and patient care since 1979 when she became part of the nursing staff of Saint Agnes Medical Centre. Since then, she has worked in various capacities related to nursing. In 1997, she became a clinical lead associate at Hahnemann Hospital. The primary tasks of her position were to assess, implement and evaluate patient care together with other health professionals. She was also tasked to lead the effort to maintain the high standards of healthcare at the hospital.

Currently, Violet is employed at the Cooper Medical Centre as a per diem nurse, providing care for medical-surgical and cardiac patients. She also serves as an educator, preceptor and mentor at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Helen Suarez, RN (Field -Nurse Supervisor)
Helen Suarez studied at Luzon Colleges, Dagupan City in the Philippines where she received an Associate degree in nursing. She further extended her qualifications by receiving a certificate in Critical Care in 1979.  In May 2007 she enhanced her resuscitation skills in the management of cardiac arrest and peri-arrest patients and received the ACLS certificate. In May 2008 she was awarded a certificate in basic cardiac life support (BCLS).

In 1978 she began her nursing career at St. Agnes Hospital as a staff nurse where she enhanced and improved skills in the medical surgical unit.  She contributed to the unit policies and procedures through the shared governance policies and collaborative efforts of the staff.

In 1981 she joined Hahnemann University Hospital where she still provides direct patient care to cardiology patients. She educates newly hired nurses and implements unit protocols, policies, and procedures. She also reinforces learning tools given to cardiothoracic post operative patients.  She is in charge of the unit during the night shift.

Eleanor Hankins, RPT (Consultant, Physical Therapist)
Eleanor Hankins studied in Emilio Aguinaldo College, earning her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the prestigious school in 1992. For four years, she worked in healthcare for several respected medical facilities in the Philippines before moving to the United States in 1996, where she has worked with many recognized healthcare providers and hospitals, mainly in the field of physical therapy.

Her extensive experience comes from working in hospitals such as Avera St. Anthony's and Alegent Health Lakeside Hospital in Nebraska, and with healthcare providers like Thera Temps, Ltd., and Skyline Retirement Community. She worked with Salus Rehabilitation, LLC as a staff physical therapist, providing care to long-term care residents and outpatients.

Marc-Anthony Angud (Clinical Research Consultant)
Marc distinguished himself at an early age as an achiever by graduating from St. Thomas Elementary with honors, and then going on to graduate from Neumann-Goretti High School, also with honors.

He went on to study in Tokyo, Japan at the Temple University Campus for Language and Culture from where he graduated last May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a  Minor in Japanese.

He is currently enrolled at the Thomas Jefferson University for a Graduate Studies Masters in Microbiology which will lead him to his dream of a career in Medicine.

Peter Aquino (Admin and HR)
Peter Aquino has a Master of Arts in Educational Management and a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in History from the New Era University, Quezon City, in the Philippines.

Peter has an impressive and varied work history. He worked as a Learner Services and Records Supervisor at American Pacific University (DETC Accredited) in Hawaii for two years. He went on to become a successful secondary school teacher and a college professor in the Philippines.

In addition, Peter has had extensive experience in the corporate HR and Admin sectors where he worked for nine years. He gained invaluable experience in the Middle East as part of his duties and responsibilities required frequent travel to parts of Asia and the Middle East.  This experience will hold him in good stead in his new role of HR and Admin Supervisor.

He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) National and Philadelphia (Regional) chapter. He is preparing to take the Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) examination which is sponsored by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

Peter is also an active in sports participant. While in the Middle East, he competed in bowling tournaments sponsored by Filipino bowling clubs throughout the region. He is an avid traveller and food connoisseur.
